Early January 2016 TADEPA started working partnership with JHPIEGO to implement Maternal and Child Survival Program (MCSP) in Bukoba DC. Various activities have been planned to meet the set MCSP goal, objectives and activities. The Goal of MCSP is to increase accessibility to quality RMNCH through scale up of interventions. The final targets is to reduce Maternal and Newborn and under five -Child Mortality rate. Various Communities and Families focused strategies and activities were planned to achieve above stated goal. These will be implemented in close collaboration with CHMT, WDCs and VDCs. Initially community based MCSP programme in Bukoba district will cover six wards namely Katoro, Rubale, Rukoma, Katerelo and Nyakato and one selected ward for Community Score Card exercise. Main actors of community and family focused activities are WAHUDUMA WA AFYA WA VIJIJI (WAJA), in support from ward and village leadership and other Community Owned resource people (CORPs).
Among others planned activities including introductory meetings with CHMT and WDCs, Supportive supervision to CHW and HF supervisor, Conduct monthly meetings with CWHs, distribution of SBCC to WAJA, joint supportive supervision, conduct gender dialogue sessions, development of term of service between TADEPA and WAJA, orientation to VHC, conduct cinema show, Conduct community Score card, and other RMNCH related activities to ensure smooth effectiveness and efficiency of intended services.
